Tuguegarao City- The Regional Nutrition Committee Region 02 held its 3rd Quarter Joint meeting of Regional Nutrition Committee, Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team, Regional Nutrition Cluster, Regional Nutrition Shepherding Team and ECCD-F1K Technical Working Group, s. 2022 on October 6, 2022 at Las Palmas de San Jose Hotel, Tuguegarao City.

The meeting was attended by fifteen (15) member agencies and organizations in the region. Dr. Amelita Pangilinan, MPH, CESO IV, Regional Director IV of DOH CVCHD, and Chair of the RNC, welcomed the participants and called the meeting to order through a recorded video.

NO III Edzell Arcinue shared that the first cycle of Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program had been concluded in the region with much positive feedbacks from the LGUs and beneficiaries. He also shared the activities conducted by the Regional Nutrition Shepherding Team (RNST) including advocacy meetings and shepherding plan of action for the shepherding areas prepared by the RNST which was approved by the RNC. NO II Arcinue then proceeded in the presentation of the 2022 Nutrition Month Accomplishment Report where he thanked the active and unwavering support of the RNC members and LGUs for the successful Nutrition Month celebration in the region.

RNPC Maria Gisela M. Lonzaga presented the approved RNC Resolutions 2 RNC Resolutions. Resolution No.2, s 2021: Creation and Organization of the Regional Technical Working Group (RTWG) on Early Childhood Care and Development in the First 1000 Days (ECCD-F1K) Program and resolution 3, s 2021: Enjoining All Local Government Units (LGUs) to Create Nutrition Offices and Hire Permanent Nutrition Action Officers (NAOs) with Adequate Support Staff and Strengthen Local Nutrition Programs with Ardent Request for the LGUs with Sufficient Resources to Create Permanent NAO Plantilla Subject to Personnel Services (PS) Limits. RNC for 2022 and thanked every member for their inputs. DMO II and requested everyone to disseminate the resolution to their network for implementation.

John Nestor Ballad presented the results of 2022 MELLPI Pro and was approved by the group.

RNPC Lonzaga thanked everyone who joined this year’s MELLPI Pro activities and hoped for the other members to join next year’s MELLPI Pro activities in the region.

Lastly, RNPC Lonzaga discussed the remaining RNC activities in the 4th Quarter of 2022, including the 2023-2028 RPAN Formulation Workshops to be attended by the RNC members.
