
Iloilo – to kickstart the Dietary Supplementation Program (DSP) for Pregnant Women, the Municipality of Concepcion through the Municipal Health Office and spearheaded by MHO/MNA Dr. Helen B. Minguez organized a Launching Program on March 27, 2019, at Concepcion Municipal Auditorium.
The Region VI RNPC Nona B. Tad-y who gave an inspirational message explaining the basis of the DSP as well as encouraged the mothers to actively participate in the sessions.
With the goal of increasing the number of infants with normal birth weight and reducing the number of nutritionally at-risk pregnant women, Concepcion received P3,096,054.00 from the National Nutrition Council. The fund will be used to provide the 506 targets mother hot meals for 76-week days and dry ration for 14 weekends.
Aside from the turn-over of the cooking materials and utensils to be used in the implementation of
the prog
ram, ECCD Child Development Milestones Monitoring Kits were also distributed to the Barangay Implementers who were trained last November 2018.
The program was attended by Hon. Agusting Garilva, SB on Health, Mun. Administrator Delvy Balasbas, Brgy. Captains, Kagawads and pregnant mothers from all 25 barangays. Also present were NNC Region VI staff.
