Iloilo – Despite the unfavorable weather conditions, ECCD F1K program coordinators from both Iloilo and Negros Occidental Provinces met with NNC RVI together with ECCD F1K National Coordinator Ms. Jana Culla to discuss updates and issues of the program, June 27, 2019 at Panaderia de Iloilo.
Liquidating unused funds was one of the most common concerns of the LGUs as their 2018 fund cannot be turned over unless they fully liquidate their current fund. While some LGUs have already returned their remaining funds and had their 2nd tranche fund downloaded, Ms. Culla said that for LGUs who still have more than P 300,000.00 in their fund, the Central Office will extend until September 2019 for them to use the fund. Ms. Culla also stressed that though it is an important part of implementing the program, coordinators shouldn’t solely focus on administrative concerns but also not forget the main goal of F1K.
Aside from the updates on fund utilization, LGUs also reported the status of their implementation of DSP of Pregnant Women, where LGUs took turns sharing their ways and practices in implementing the program. They were reminded to submit their quarterly accomplishment reports as well since the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) is also asking for reports and documentation as evidence that the activities being funded are conducted. This year’s Nutrition Month Theme and Logo were also presented during the meeting.// AKJ
