Butuan City – The Municipality of Esperanza convened their Municipal Nutrition Committee to polishes the Local Nutrition Action Plan of the municipality for 2023-2023 at ABC Building, Esperanza, Agusan del Sur on November 8-10, 2022.

The activity was graced by the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Deo Manpatilan and the Former-Mayor and current Municipal Administrator, Ms. Leonida Manpatilan and expressed their support in scaling up nutrition interventions for an improved nutrition situation in the municipality.

In the workshop, the different Committee members provided inputs that could contribute to the delivery of positive nutrition outcome. Some of the inputs included in the plan are the distribution of Egg-Laying Chicken to families with malnourished children from Municipal Agriculture Office, skills training and skills enhancement training to parents of malnourished children from Municipal Cooperative Development Office and extensive monitoring and supplementary feeding of wasted school children from DepEd-Esperanza.

After the furnishing of the LNAP, the Municipal Nutrition Committee of Esperanza concluded a proposal of Php4,000,000.00 as an additional fund for the implementation of the intensified nutrition programs and services in the supplemental Annual Investment Plan (AIP) and budget.

Present in the workshop are the Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Maria Theresa C. Labiao and representatives from Agriculture Office, DepEd-Esperanza, Planning Office, Budget Office and Information Office.#MPRayco
