PALO, Leyte – A total of 252, 823 doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine has been distributed in Eastern Visayas as of Friday, the Department of Health (DOH) reported.
The number is 99.94 percent of the total doses delivered in the region since early March, the DOH said.
Of the distributed vaccines, 139,197 have been administered for the first dose and 41,310 for the second dose or those fully vaccinated.
“Currently, the government is continually conducting the vaccination roll-out for Priority Group A1 and has commenced the vaccination of Senior Citizens or Priority Group A2 and adults with comorbidities or Priority Group A3,” the DOH regional office here said in a Facebook post on Friday.
To date, Leyte has received the highest vaccine allocation among the six region’s six provinces with 57,652 doses, while 41,114 doses were distributed in Samar, 36,556 in Eastern Samar, 33,514 in Northern Samar, 33, 274 in Southern Leyte, and 10,652 in Biliran.
The cities of Tacloban and Ormoc, have received 24,769 and 15, 292 vaccine doses, respectively.
Meanwhile, the region has recorded a total of 20,479 Covid-19 cases, with 19,267 recoveries, 906 active cases and 306 deaths, based on the DOH latest monitoring report.#GSabalza
