Palo, Leyte– Baybay City is the last local government unit visited by Infoshare staff for the Early Childhood Care and Development for the First 1000 Days (ECCD F1K) Program on 25 June 2021 particularly the team visited Brgy. Palhi of the said city.
Three Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs) and four Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) supervised by the very active Rural Health Midwife assigned in the barangay assisted the endline survey.
Before the survey both BNSs and BHWs master listed the required number of participants such as pregnant women and mothers with 0-5- and 6-23-months old children. On the day of the survey, said community volunteer workers gathered the identified respondents of the covered court of the barangay. The team ensured minimum health standard protocols in the conduct of on face-to-face interview and survey.
Towards late in the afternoon and after finishing the survey, NPC Dr. Catalino P. Dotollo, Jr. took the opportunity to interview and give inputs to the community volunteers. Topics on complementary feeding and home backyard gardening were also shared.
Additionally, the volunteers reported that Brgy Palhi is a recipient of a locally funded Dietary Supplementation Program for the nutritionally at-risk pregnant women and children 6-59 months children. Further, NPC Dotollo did coach the ways to cook complementary foods utilizing locally available foods.
Infoshare team completed the endline surveys in the municipalities of Mahaplag, Hilongos and Abuyog and to finish the survey in Baybay City. #NPC CPDotollo
