TACLOBAN CITY – The municipalities of San Jose de Buan and Gandara in Samar province attended the 4-day Training of Trainers on Barangay Leadership for Nutrition and Development under the Barangay Nutrition Governance Program organized by the Zuellig Family Foundation (ZFF)The training is founded on the six pillars.
Investing in nutrition reflects good governance. This means that by paying attention to the nutrition system, the leaders, policy makers, nutrition workers and the community will have political and development benefits. A well-nourished citizenry contributes more and better to the development of the community.
Politically, LGUs that are excellent in implementing their nutrition programs are rewarded with awards from various national government entities, such as the National Nutrition Council (NNC), Seal of a Good Local Governance (DILG), Child Friendly Local Government Audit and similar others.
These LGUs are also promoted as champions in nutrition and can coach and mentor low performing LGUs through its Nutrition Shepherding project. #NPC-CPD
