PALO, Leyte – The Provincial Health Office of Leyte on February 15, 2022 received Ready-Use-therapeutic food (RUTF), made possible through the coordinated efforts of UNICEF, Department of Health (DOH), and the National Nutrition Council (NNC).
The supply pulled out from Samar province is intended for areas severely hit by Typhoon Odette in the 5th district of Leyte.
On March 3, 2022, Joan G. Gonzales, Information Management Officer for Leyte, visited PDOHO to check the storage facility and acquire dat on damage RUTF packets and boxes.
She said Nutritionist-Dietitian II, Ms. Able Joy Angelique Cerro, Leyte PDOHO disclosed that they already set schedule in the RUTF distribution
Wasting continues to be a child health problem sepecially during emergencies and disasters. These supplies will help manage and save the lives of children who are moderately and severely wasted affected by the typhoon Odette int the 5th district of Leyte. #NOII-TMCL
