PALO, Leyte – Close to more than 20 Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) in Barugo town in Leyte have completed the five-day BNS training course on August 5, 2022.
The National Nutrition Council (NNC) extended technical assistance headed by Dr. Catalino P. Dotollo, Jr. Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator, together with Development Officer II, Ramel O. Bandibas and Annabel B. Limbagan.
The training was welcomed and opened by Mayor Aron C. Balais. He told the BNSs who attended the training that his dispensation in the next 3 years will focus on health and nutrition. He said that part of his priority in the next 100 days is the improvement of health and nutrition services
The mayor also said that he will prioritize the increase the honorarium of BNSs and support the capability building activities of the BNSs.
During the last day of the training, the mayor also took patience in the closing ceremony and had an opportunity with the BNSs graduate and the facilitators.
The training was conducted in close coordination with the Ms. Wina B. Castroverde, the Municipal Nutrition Action Officer of Barugo. DMOII-GAS
