The Province of South Cotabato in Region XII launches the implementation of Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program on May 30, 2022 at Banga, South Cotabato. The DSP-TK aims to mitigate undernutrition in children aged 6 to 23 months through complementary feeding for 180 days.
The City/Municipal Nutrition Action Officers, Nutrition Program Coordinators, Nutrition Officers, and National Nutrition Council Region XII personnel attended the launch. The Local Chief Executives in respective areas were also present at the launch event.
South Cotabato Province has a total of 911 beneficiaries from the 10 municipalities of Banga, Surallah, Norala, Tampakan, Tantangan, Polomolok, T’boli, St. Nio, Lake Sebu, and Tupi, as well as the two major cities of Koronadal and General Santos. The aforementioned local government units have signed a Memorandum of Understanding stipulating their support through augmentation of resources necessary for the program’s success.
During the launching, the preparation and administration of dry goods such as Rice Mongo and Sesame Blend, Momsie, and Mingo Meals were demonstrated. In addition, the program’s monitoring and evaluation system was also presented.
