Basketball icon, ‘El Capitan’ Alvin Patrimonio, was the special guest in the annual Team Building of the city/district nutrition program coordinators (C/DNPCs) held at the La Mesa Park in Quezon City on 30 October 2014.
The one-day event was jointly organized and conducted by the National Nutrition Council-NCR and the C/DNPCs Association of Metro Manila, Inc. More than 70 C/DNPCs from all over Metro Manila led by their President Ms. Eileen S. Guevara attended the event. The participants enjoyed the Zumba (dancercise) led by Ms. Anne Boncay of Pasig City and the different games such as the “Sipa Challenge”, Limb-o-rock, “agawang panyo”, “over-under ball game”, and the hula hoop relay. The games were meant to instill the value of team work and cooperation and allowed the participants to enjoy their camaraderie. The participants brought their lunch and foods were shared in ‘boodle-fight’ style.
Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Mila V. Federizo in her opening message, congratulated the officers of the Association for spearheading the event and encouraged the “senior” C/DNPCs to be role models of the new ones. “The NNC-NCR is truly proud of the Association and its accomplishments. We hope that you all remain united and that the Association will continue to be an active partner of NNC-NCR in the PPAN implementation in Metro Manila”, said NPC Federizo.
“Like in a basketball game, team work and unity are important in an organization like yours. Continue to give your best as you do your job as nutrition program coordinators,” Cap Alvin Patrimonio emphasized in his inspirational message. “You are all doing a good job. Continue serving the community and you can reach your goals by working together as an organization,” Patrimonio added. He gamely posed for photos with the participants many of whom were in starstruck awe.
The one-day team building of the C/DNPCs was indeed a day of fun, games and happy moments with the surprise guest, ‘Cap’ Alvin Patrimonio.
