The National Nutrition Council Region 02 (NNC R-02) conducted a five-day training on Nutrition Program Management for Nutrition Workers last September 12-16, 2016 at Hotel Veniz, Baguio City.
In attendance were 24 participants: 6 from the province of Nueva Vizcaya, 8 from Isabela, 5 from Quirino and 5 from Cagayan. Participants were newly-designated or appointed Nutrition Officers and Municipal Nutrition Action Officers in their respective municipality.

With 4 resource speakers: Nutrition Program Coordinator Rhodora G. Maestre of NNC R02, Ms. Ma Gisela Lonzaga, Nutrition Officer III of NNC R02, Ms. Luningning Rhodes, Nutrition Officer IV of PHO Quirino ,Ms. Nancy Castro, Nutrition Officer II of Nueva Vizcaya and 2 secretariat.

NPC Maestre inspired the Nutrition worker participants with her salutation for their good performance and services. She also gave a lecture regarding ”First 1000 days ni baby pahalagahan para sa malusog na kinabukasan” and Scaling Up Nutrition.

NPC Maestre said to the body that this training will not only strengthen them to become effective and efficient worker but will strengthen their core values as nutrition workers to help educate communities to break free our poor sector of our society from hunger and malnutrition.

The Nutrition Program Management (NPM) training aimed to enhance the knowledge, skills and values of the participants along local Nutrition Program Management.
