During the finalization of the “Local Media Plan for 2021” in the recent 2nd CNN-4-A online meeting — it was agreed that the use of promotional tools with media personalities and endorsers will help boost greater nutrition awareness among the citizenry in the region.
Thus, part of the nutrition advocacies will feature more influential videos on the official Facebook page and website of NNC-Calabarzon. It will also further enhance the promotion of other nutrition-related activities such as the “Calabarzon TikTok Challenge” and the “Calabarzon Photography Contest.”
The “NNC Online Recall Survey Findings” was used as reference for the Local Media Plan. It revealed that the survey respondents from Calabarzon “have limited knowledge of the activities and programs of NNC.”
The survey results indicate the respondent’s low awareness of the “10 Kumainments,” “First 1000 Days of Life,” “Stunting,” “Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition,” and the “2020 Nutrition Month celebration.”
The survey also showed that the first source of information on nutrition concerns among 34% of the respondents were from the mainstream social media (Facebook/FB Groups/Online Chat/Youtube, etc.).
The other sources of information mentioned in the survey include: TV (20%), online websites/journals (17%), health centers (12%), schools (7%), family members/friends (6%), radio and printed materials (1%).
The survey was conducted by the EON group, in partnership with Tangere–groups which were commissioned by the NNC to determine the respondent’s recall on existing programs of the NNC.
The 2nd CNN-4-A online meeting was presided by Mr. Redentor Alano (City Information Officer or CIO of Dasmarinas City and CNN-4A President) and led by Ms. Carina Santiago (NNC-Calabarzon RNPC). A total of 22 P/CIOs, P/CIOs staff, media practitioners, and NNC4A staff participated in the meeting.
