The Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team of the National Capital Region (RNET-NCR) started the Search for the 2018 Regional Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar (ROBNS) on March 12, 2019. Fifteen (15) Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) from all over Metro Manila are vying for the 2018 ROBNS award.
Using the new Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation Protocol (MELLPI Pro) for Local Nutrition Workers, the RNET-NCR evaluates the performance of all the City/Municipal Outstanding BNSs. During the visit, the team also mentors the OBNSs by giving feedback and recommendations. Before leaving the area, the results of the evaluation are presented and discussed by the RNET to the BNS being evaluated, her ND supervisor and the nutrition action officer (NAO).
The ROBNS for 2018 will be recognized during the Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (RNAC) on July 26, 2019.
This year’s RNET composed of representatives from partner government agencies, non-governmental organization and academe is also currently evaluating the performance of local government units in implementing their 2018 local nutrition action plan anchored on the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2017-2022. Later this year, RNET will also be doing the evaluation of all the NAOs in the region.
