bns-NNC Regional Office III has just successfully carried out a Training of Trainers on Basic Course for Barangay Nutrition Scholars to primarily capacitate CNPCs, DNPCs and MNAOs who are new and old in the service but without any formal training yet to enable them to establish and better handle the BNS Program . The training will similarly enable the participants to advocate, organize and conduct capability development activities for the BNSs in their respective LGUs. The 33 BNS TOT participants made up of City and Provincial Nutrition Program Coordinators, CNAOs and MNAOs, BNS and Nurses assigned in the City Nutrition and/or Health Offices were from the 8 cities: Angeles City (2), Balanga City (1), Gapan City (2), Mabalacat City (2),City of San Fernando (2), San Jose City (2), Science City of Muñoz and Tarlac City (1) and 10 municipalities of Region III from the provinces of Aurora (2), Bataan (1), Bulacan (2), Nueva Ecija (2), Pampanga (3), Tarlac (5) and Zambales (5). The five-day training was held at Hacienda Gracia Resort and Hotel located at Bgy. Sta. Maria, Lubao, Pampanga on October 13-17, 2014.

The training was attended by The varied adult learning methodologies employed provided the participants with the chance to relate, interact and share their experiences during plenary sessions. It was remarkable that everybody actively participated in the workshops of the 5 modules of the course, expressing their unusual excitement. The group claimed that they were satisfied from the training course because they learned training methodologies which they can practically employ in their training roll outs.

The training concluded with the presentation of re-entry plans and these construed with the expected output of the BNS TOT wherein NPC Panlilio and the core facilitators have commented on and advised each LGU to go on with their program with commitment, determination and zest.
