The Federation of the Regional Nutrition Action Officers in Davao Region known as Nutrition Action Officers Association of the Philippines (NAOPA) XI has new sets of Officers that will serve for a two (2) year term from CY 2018 to CY 2020.
A total of 11 Nutrition Action Officers (NAOs) were nominated last February 15, 2018 during the 1st Quarter NAO’s Meeting at the Microtel Hotel by Wyndam, Lanang, Davao City. The 11 NAOs nominated are the Provincial and City Nutrition Action Officers from 5 provinces and 6 cities in the region for different posts. They will also represent their LGUs in the NAOPA XI. The NAOs present during the 1st Quarter Meeting cast their votes. Ballots were also sent to NAOs who were not present during the meeting in order for them to also cast their votes.
Dr. Maria Teresa L. Ungson, the Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator of the National Nutrition Council XI Officiated the Induction of the new sets of NAOPA XI Officers at the Grand Men Seng Hotel, Magallanes St., Davao City last June 22, 2018. The Regional NAO’s Federation Officers will provide leadership, directions and strengthen the camaraderie of NAOs in Davao Region. They will also ensure that the rights, duties and responsibilities of NAOs are upheld and protected.
NAOPA XI President Jan Dmitri S. Sator in his response speech acknowledged the National Nutrition Council XI through Dr. Maria Teresa L. Ungson for giving him the opportunity to be trained during the Nutrition Program Management Training where he gained appreciation in nutrition. He also recognized the support extended by fellow Nutrition Action Officers for trusting him to lead the NAOs Federation.
Further, the induction became more meaningful when the Officers endorsed and approved the first NAOPA XI Resolution No. 1, Series of 2018 entitled “Adopting and Supporting the Implementation of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition 2017-2022”. This signifies their commitment to uphold and sustained local nutrition efforts that are geared towards over-all nutrition development in Davao Region. (RML/MTLU)
