The National Nutrition Council-Caraga spearheaded the conduct of Nutrition Program Management Training on September 1-5, 2014 at Goat 2-Geder Hotel and Restaurant, Butuan City. The training, participated by 30 Municipal Nutrition Action Officers, aimed to develop capacities of the MNAOs in nutrition program management to help solve malnutrition and hunger within the context of local governance and development.
The training is divided into eight modules that facilitated the understanding of participants on the basic concepts of food and nutrition, the needed core values and skills of nutrition workers, nutrition program management in the local governance and development system and the four phases of nutrition program management.
After the training, the participants are now expected to conduct trainings on NPM among local nutrition workers, members of the local nutrition committee and other stakeholders. The technical assistance to LGUs include how to organize thethe local nutrition committees, formulate local nutrition action plans, ensure the plans effective and efficient implementation, monitor their progress and evaluate their outcomes against set objectives. ###
