The Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition (RPAN) 2019-2022 is the response of Region IX to the alarming nutritional problems in the region. As a response to the problems identified in the planning process, the RPAN formulated 11 programs and 52 projects. The RPAN consists of 1 nutrition-sensitive, 1 enabling, and 9nutrition-specific program. The 11 programs follow the life stages of the Department of Health and the major programs of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition 2017-2022. All 11-nutrition-specific, nutrition-sensitive, and enabling programs to constitute the RPAN.
Last October 11, 2022, NNC9 headed by RNPC Nimfa D. Ekong conducts the RPAN follow-through Program Implementation Review of the Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition 2019-2022 at Grand Astoria Hotel, Zamboanga City via a hybrid approach (also, virtually through Google Meet). The activity highlights the discussion and presentation of the RPAN 2019-2022 Targets and the Consolidation and Analysis of the Agency’s Accomplishments to RPAN.
The activity was participated by DOH9 Nutritionist-Dietitian IV Ms. Chrystal Jean I. Dela Cerna, DSWD9 Nutritionist-Dietitian III Ms. Greta F. Martinez, ZCMC Chief Dietitian Ms. Ma. Dolores M. Paredes, Nutritionist-Dietitian II, and NDAP President Ms. Charmaine M. Solis, DOST9 senior Research Specialist II Ms. Sonora Buñag, DA9 Organic Agriculture Program Coordinator Ms. Janice Legaspi, NEDA9 Senior Economic Development Specialist Ms. Michel Tulog, DILG9 Project Evaluation Officer II Ms. Edem Mae Delmo, City Health Office of Zamboanga Nutritionist-Dietitian I Ms. Rowina Pagotaisidro, Zamboanga City Barangay Ayala Nutrition Scholar Ms. Jessica Pradel. Nutrition Officer III Elton Pelegrino, Development Management Officers II (ZDS) Ms. Marie-Clare Gaas, (ZDN) Ms. Rowence Zorilla, and (ZS) Ms. Karla Calapardo, Project Development Officers I Ms. Kimberly Tanador, and Ms. Ayesa Gay Bejerano.
The said agencies involved and LGU was able to give data on their accomplishment from 2019 to 2022 on the matrix with the outcome targets. Afterward, there has been an analysis of the consolidated accomplishment and an open discussion. This will be used in the formulation of RPAN 2023-2028 which will be conducted on October 13-14, 2022.
