RTWG Q4The Zamboanga Peninsula (ZamPen) Technical Working Groups of the Regional Nutrition and Anti-Hunger Committee (RNAHC) and Early Childhood Care and Development in the First 1000 Days of Life (ECCD F1K) Program conducted its 4th Quarter Joint Meeting on 18 November 2022 at Grand Astoria Hotel, Zamboanga City, and via Google Meet. The meeting highlights the Presentation and Approval of the Provisional Agenda which are Status Updates on the ECCD F1K Program Implementation, Presentation of the MELLPI Pro Validation Visit Results for LNFPs and LGUS with Draft RNAHC Resolution Confirming the MELLPI Pro Result, Presentation of the Draft 2023-2028 Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition. The activity was participated by no less than twenty (20) Nutrition Focal Persons of the Regional line agencies, representatives from the ECCD F1K LGUs, and NNC9 staff.

During the activity, it was emphasized how important the member organizations of the Regional Nutrition and Anti-Hunger Committee (RNAHC) and the organizations listed in RA 11148 are to managing and completely eliminating malnutrition in the region. It focuses more on how one’s future is built upon coordinated initiatives that have an impact on people’s lives throughout the first 1000 days of life. Every participant was urged to actively participate and perform their responsibilities under the relevant law so that there would be a whole-of-government strategy to address malnutrition not just in the area but also throughout the nation.

In order to achieve the national and international goals of eradicating hunger and malnutrition, the National Nutrition Council Region IX commits to continuing to coordinate with the nutrition partner agencies and other stakeholders and leads in the implementation of the many nutrition interventions, whether they are specific, sensitive, or enabling.
