On April 20, 2021, the ECCD F1K Provincial Nutrition Coordinator (PNC) for Zamboanga del Norte Ms. Rowence F. Zorilla attended the joint meeting of the Municipal Nutrition Council (MNC) and Local Health Board (LHB) of Pinan, Zamboanga del Norte to discuss the Tutok Kainan Guidelines, SMS-Monitoring Tool, Monitoring Template, IAR Form and Inventory Form. PNC Zorilla also made a courtesy call to Pinan Municipal Mayor Hon. Cecilia J. Carreon and to Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Ms. Arlene Awit. The meeting was presided by Hon. Mayor Carreon and was participated by twenty (20) members of MNC and LHB, and PNC Zorilla from NNC 9.

The agenda of the meeting were the presentation of the Operation Timbang (OPT) 2021, the presentation on Updates of underweight and severely underweight by sponsors, creation of the Municipal Nutrition Evaluation Team (MNET) for MELLPI PRO Evaluation, COVID-19 updates and Vaccine Deployment and the overview of the Tutok Kainan: Dietary Supplementation Program.

During the meeting, PNC Zorilla introduced to the body the important informations on the Tutok Kainan: Dietary Supplementation Program. She also shared the salient points of NNC Memorandum No. 2020 series of 2020 (Tutok Kainan Guidelines). Apart from that, information on SMS messaging as a means to monitor and report the development of activity was also shared and imparted that a consent form must be filled out with complete details by the pregnant beneficiaries. Lastly, she discussed the monitoring template, Inspection and Acceptance report and Inventory Form to be used during the implementation of Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program.

The MNC and LHB Chair together with the members expressed their support to the program and were grateful for the Tutok Kainan program of the NNC. The LGU is looking forward to receiving more nutrition-related programs from the national government most especially from NNC.
