9 March 2022, Cagayan de Oro City – As the Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program (TK DSP) implementation is on its way to start in Lanao del Norte Province, Provincial Nutrition Focal Point (PNFP) Lizelle L. Bete visited the municipalities of Salvador and Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Lanao del Norte, being the local government unit (LGUs) recipients of Phases III and IV of the program.

PNFP Bete, paid a visit to Local Chief Executives, Mayor Farhanie A. Tawantawan of LGU Salvador, and Mayor Motalib M. Dimaporo of LGU Sultan Naga Dimaporo. In both LGUs, Nutritionist-Dietitians II Mitzilyn Brillo of the Department of Health accompanied NNC X.

In LGU Salvador, Municipal Mayor Tawantawan was represented by Ms. Sohailah T. Mindalano, their Administrative Assistant, and Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Jenny Trixie Virtudazo. PNFP Bete shared information on the program’s future implementation throughout the meeting. All negotiations, including the preparation of the community kitchen and the storage facility for the wet and dry commodities in their recipient barangays, shall be reported to Mayor Tawantawan, as agreed.

On the other hand, Municipal Mayor Motalib A. Dimaporo and MNAO Elisea Aranzado were present during the visit to Sultan Naga Dimaporo. Mayor Dimaporo confirmed his full support and dedication to the initiative, assuring all program partners that their municipality would coordinate the necessary efforts to carry out TK DSP. As agreed, PNFP Bete will attend BNS meetings to provide TK DSP and Reporting System Orientation as well as perform storage inspections as part of the social preparedness for the approaching TK DSP deployment.

Furthermore, as the program progresses, NNC X will continue to provide technical support to all LGUs of Lanao del Norte Province. In the next months, more collaborative activities and social mobilization will be pushed through. (PNFP Lizelle Bete)
