CalbigaPALO, Leyte – The local government of Calbiga in Samar province has prepositioned its nutrition commodities as part of its preparedness measures for Typhoon Odette.

Evelyn Piscote-Jabonete the Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, in a Facebook post on Wednesday, shared the different commodities they prepared which includes food packs for 6-23 months old, RUTF, supplements, CGS tools and various IEC materials.

In the latest DOST-PAGASA advisory issued at 11 AM today, Typhoon Odette was estimated based at 590 km east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

It has maximum sustained winds of 120 km/hr near the center and gustiness of up to 150 km/hr, moving westward at 20 km/hr.
The typhoon is forecasted to make landfall in the vicinity of Caraga or Eastern Visayas tomorrow afternoon or evening. Afterward, it will continue moving generally westward and cross in Central and Western Visayas regions before emerging over the Sulu sea on Friday morning or afternoon, based on the advisory.
