PALO, Leyte – The province of Eastern Samar conducted a virtual launching of the Pilipinas Kontra Gutom (PKG) through its Mobile Kitchen Operation to achieve zero hunger and malnutrition.
PKG is the private sector’s contribution in the attainment of zero hunger and malnutrition in the barangays, municipalities, provinces and regions. The partner private sector in Eastern Samar is Gawad Kalinga (GK). While the partner LGUs is strategically located in San Julian, Hernani and Jipapad.
The launching was attended by Cabinet Secretary and Interagency TF on Zero Hunger and Scaling Up Nutrition Adviser for the Philippines, Hon. Karlo Alexei B. Nograles, GK Executive Director and field staff, NNC 8 Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Dr. Catalino P. Dotollo, Jr.
On the part of LGUs it was attended by the 3 mayors of Hernani Hon. Amado Candido, Mayor Benjamin Ver of Jipapad and Mayor Dennis Estaron of San Julian. Likewise, office of the Provincial Governor and the Provincial Health Office headed by PHO II Epifania Marian Isiderio and PHO staff. #NPC-CPD
