The virtual meeting held on 8 July 2021 was presided by Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator, Reginaldo T. Guillen. Representatives from DILG Region VI: Christian M. Nagaynay, LGOO VI- OIC of Local Government Capacity Development Division, Ms. Christine Laurente, LGOO V, and Ms. Paula Castillo, LGOO II of DILG ROVI were present. The agenda of the meeting are the ff: (1) Nutrition in the New Normal, (2) Initiatives of DILG ROVI in the implementation of EO 138, (3) Proposed options for LGUs regarding Mandanas-Garcia Ruling, and lastly, the inclusion of NNC in DILG Briefings to LGUs. RNPC Guillen discussed nutrition in the new normal and the proposed options for strengthening the LGU Nutrition Program.

The proposal highlights the establishment of the nutrition office and hiring of the personnel as this is one of the keys to improve the nutrition programs. Mr. Nagaynay of DILG RVI also shared their initiatives in cascading EO 138 by following the order of the national office. Their current focus is the formation of a Committee of Devolution at the LGU level and coordinates with NGAs in preparing devolution transition plans (DTPs).
