TACLOBAN CITY – Seven more municipalities in Eastern Visayas has completed the two-day budgeting workshop on nutrition organized by the National Nutrition Council (NNC) Region 8.These includes the towns of Tabontabon, Merida, Dulag, and Tanauan all in Leyte, Villareal and Calbiga both in Samar, and Dolores in Eastern Samar.
The participants are the Municipal Nutrition Action Officers, Municipal Budget Officers, and Municipal Planning and Development Officers of the respective LGUs.
The workshop aims to scale up nutrition interventions at the local level to combat childhood malnutrition.
On Nov. 4-5, a same activity was coducted participated by 15 LGUs – 14 from Leyte and one from Eastern Samar. Likewise, the regional office has been conducting a series of technical assistance to different municpalites in the region.
