Arevalo, Iloilo City-Regional Nutrition Strategic Action Plan (RNSAP) 2012-2013 for Region VI got to be finalized as National Nutrition Council (NNC) Region VI held a Regional Nutrition Technical Committee (RNTC) meeting last March 18, 2013 at Punta Villa Resort, Sto. Niño Sur, Arevalo, Iloilo City.
RNTC members from different government agencies gathered including Ms. Melinda Jamelo, NEDA, Remedios T. Huesca, UPV (COP), Pilar G. Lamanosa, POPCOM, Salvacion R. Gayoma, DSWD, and Felicitas Neturada, Focal Person Gulayan sa Paaralan. The RNSAP 2012-2016 was presented by Ms. Jamelo for review of the important details to discuss. There were revisions or changes made on the goal, values, mission, vision, strategic interventions, programs and projects, and targets. Each member gave their inputs to further develop the construction of sentence and content of the revised RNSAP.
RNSAP 2012-2016 aims to to reduce child and maternal mortality and ultimately improve quality human resources in the region. It may be a tough endeavor to achieve since the region faces a lot of problems in malnutrition. But through revisions made on RNSAP, it will be possible to attain as it made legible enough to understand and will serve as guide to NNC and RNC to achieve its goal, bring vision into reality, implement program and projects, and put its mission into action.
