PALO, Leyte – The National Nutrition Council in its efforts to accelerate support to LGU mobilization for nutrition improvement, conducted an online Training on Nutrition Shepherding.
The Nutrition Shepherding Project is a peer-to-peer platform which involves guiding and mentoring low-performing LGUs on nutrition by a team at the regional level. Its aim is to enhance LGUs knowledge and skills on nutrition program management.
The participants to the online training are NNC regional staff, members of the Regional Technical Working Group (RTWG) and NAOs in high performing LGUs. The project also aims to produce pool of mentors and coaches at the regional level on improved nutrition program management among low-performing LGUs.
After the online training. participants are expected to provide policy support through their respective Regional Nutrition Committees, organize Regional Nutrition Shepherding Teams (RNSTs), roll out training for identified RNSTs and conduct actual mentoring and coaching to LGUs. #NPC-CPD
