The National Nutrition Council (NNC) and Early Childhood Care and Development in the First 1000 Days (ECCD F1K) beneficiary areas in Iloilo Province met to discuss each LGU’s plan on how to implement the Dietary Supplementation Program (DSP) last May 11, 2018 at Madison Hotel.
Passi City and the municipalities of Concepcion, Pototan, and Tigbauan presented their modes of procurement, catering services and centralized kitchen among others, as well as raised concerns about the program.
Ms. Jana Marie Culla, ECCD F1K National Coordinator from NNC Central Office, also presented the updated Omnibus Guidelines which allows LGUs to include all pregnant women not just those on their 26th week of pregnancy and the nutritionally at-risk.
Ms. Maria Lourdes A. Vega, Division Chief, NPPD, NNC CO and NO III Diane Cornejo were also present not only to address the concerns of areas for DSP but also to follow-up progress of ECCD F1K in the province of Iloilo.
Mr. Joselito Layola of the National Dairy Authority (NDA) also presented alternative products made out of the dairy which can be used as one of the commodities given to mothers especially in the island barangays.
The meeting also doubled as a venue for the Technical Assistance, Monitoring and Evaluation (TAME) feedbacking in the four (4) areas visited by the National TAME team led by Ms. Culla and Mr. Layola.
