DSP OrientationTACLOBAN CITY – In preparation for the a possible partnership with Department of Agrarian Reform Regional Office 8, NNC officials visit and orient DAR Regional Director and selected staff on Tutok Kainan: Dietary Supplementation Program (TK:DSP).

RNPC Dr. Catalino P. Dotollo, Jr. discussed the rationale, objectives and implementing mechanism. Included in the orientation is partnership with local organization such as the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs).

Part of the discussion was about the partnership with DAR 8 and the respective ARBOs.

The feeding will consist of dry feeding for the first month and and wet feeding on the 2nd to 6th month during Mondays-Fridays and dry feeding during Saturdays and Sundays in the 2nd to 6th month.

RNPC emphasized that the DSP is not a stand alone intervention but also a platform for other nutrition specific and sensitive intervention such as home and community backyard vegetable gardening, nutrition education classes and livelihood projects.

Meanwhile, DAR Regional Director Robert Anthony P. Yu vowed to support the NNC initiated supplementary feeding program. He instructed his staff to coordinate with respective ARBOs operating in the respective province. He said further to expedite meeting with ARBOs and give orientation on the DSP.

The TK DSP to be implemented by n Eastern Visayas is under the Phase 3 funded by the 100 million congressional initiative of Sen. Imee Marcos. In Eastern Visayas, it will cover in the provinces of Samar, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar and Leyte. #NPC-CPD
