March 29, 2022: The National Nutrition Council Region VI headed by RNPC Reginaldo T. Guillen conducted the Early Childhood Care and Development in the First 1000 Days (ECCD F1K) Program 1st Quarterly Meeting for CY 2022 via zoom platform. Together with the Focal persons of ECCD F1K pilot areas of Iloilo and Negros Occidental provinces, the Technical Working Group convened to discuss the status of submission of 2021 Quarterly Accomplishment Reports, F1K Fund Utilization and activities held related to implementation of the ECCD F1K Program in their respective areas.

All LGUs gave a share of their activities during the meeting like the conduct of Dietary Supplementation Program for pregnant women in Passi City and Municipality of Pototan, the Nutri-ed Classes held in Municipality of Binalbagan, Mother’s Class Graduation Ceremony in San Carlos City and many others. The TKDSP Phase 5 was also introduced during the meeting in preparation for it’s implementation this year.

Also present in the meeting are the ECCD F1K Provincial Nutrition Focal Points Ms. Heda V. Suing of Iloilo Province, Ms. Joyce Faith E. Española of Negros Occidental and NO III Sheryl C. Sedantes who imparted some ideas during the meeting.

The meeting adjourned with a closing message from RNPC Guillen emphasizing the importance of disseminating the ECCD F1K interventions in the whole Western Visayas to ease the malnutrition of children in the Region. He is also grateful for the attendance of each Focal person in the meeting and looks forward to another meeting with them physically.
