Dr. Azucena Milana-Dayanghirang, Assistant Secretary and Executive Director IV of NNC, serves as one of the panel speakers during the Nutrition Forum at the 11th World Instant Noodles Association (WINA) Summit on 25 February 2025, at Shangri-La The Fort, Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

The 11th WINA Summit theme, “World United by Noodles,” focuses on the industry’s commitment to making a positive impact on food safety, nutrition, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility.

A/Sec. Milana-Dayanghirang stresses the importance of ongoing initiatives to develop and enforce Front-of-Pack Nutrition Labelling (FOPNL) to address the rising prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in the Southeast Asian region, The FOPNL guides consumers toward healthier food choices by making nutritional information more accessible and easier to understand, simplifying complex data through clear indicators. The FOPNL helps consumers quickly assess a product’s nutritional value and encourages healthier purchases.

She urges the food industry, including the instant noodle sector, to cooperate with governments in the fight against malnutrition by providing clear and accurate nutritional information and reformulating products to reduce excessive sugar, salt, and unhealthy fats, thereby contributing to improving overall public health.
