The statement highlighted that the Philippines supports the extension of the implementation of the global strategies or action plans for nursing and midwifery, digital health, and maternal, infant, and young child nutrition. These are critical in guiding and framing collective actions to maximize impact and accelerate actions towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. The extension of the comprehensive implementation plan on maternal, infant and young child nutrition aligns with the country’s renewed commitment to end all forms of malnutrition. The government aims to scale up national and local health nutrition programs through a strengthened integrated strategy for maternal, neonatal, child health and nutrition in the first 1,000 days of life.
The statement ended with encouraging stronger collaboration among Member States, sharing expertise and solutions to ensure that strategies and action plans are provided with appropriate support through global cooperation, sustained investment, and policy alignment toward Universal Health Coverage and health security.
