The meeting tackled the change in programming of funds for the ECCD F1K program to include, among others, the areas not in the original plan. For Phase 1 (2016-2018), only 9 out of the 19 municipalities of Sulu will be covered as per decision of the NNC-ARMM due to the unstable peace and order situation.

Likewise, the reprogramming is intended to fund other activities not in the original plan such as national consultation, local nutrition planning workshops, workshop on the milestone development checklist, among others.
For Phase 2 (2017-2019), two resettlement sites, as recommended by the DBM during the technical budget hearing of NNC, and five municipalities in Quezon will be added to the program areas.

Moreover, the meeting discussed firming up the contents of the PPAN guiding principles, strategic thrusts, priority provinces, among others.

The PPAN will be presented to the Cabinet during its meeting on 01 June 2017. A draft Executive Order on “Attaining and Sustaining Improved Nutrition through the Operationalization of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2017-2022” and a Declaration of War to End All Forms of Malnutrition will be presented that will add impetus to the strict implementation of PPAN 2017-2022.
