On the other hand, FNRI Director Dr. Mario V. Capanzana led the team that discussed the various components of the expanded National Nutrition Survey, which will run for 3 years.

The planned expanded NNS will be using 16 replicates of the 2010 Master Sample of the Philippine Statistics Authority, which will enable provincial level estimates and a national data every year for all indicators. FNRI will also be using more electronic data collection and data processing techniques for the manual system of previous surveys.

The different components of the survey such as the anthropometric, biochemical, dietary survey, and the government program participation components – to which NNC team provided inputs for enhancement. A stakeholders meeting will be convened by FNRI in mid-June to generate recommendations from various stakeholders.
